CADECOM with funding from German Ministry of Economic
Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through Hoffnungszeichen | Sign of Hope
(SoH) is implementing a project entitled “Strengthening of Smallholder Farmers
Resilience and Self-Help Capacities against the Effects of Climate Change in
Mchinji District”. The project is currently finalizing development of a 5.1
solar powered irrigation scheme in TA Zulu, Mchinji District. The development
work is expected to benefit about 100 small holder farmers of which about 64 % are
females and 36% are males.
In March this year, CADECOM staff, together with participants for the project installed a solar powered panel and water pumps at Tikolore irrigation Scheme in Group Vilage Headman Chinkhuta.
